An old beauty favorite with a side of chocolate
Happy Monday sweethearts! Last week was spent more or less at home because my little girl caught a cold, and let me tell you, I'm so ready to start this week and get out of the house again! Today we're going to the park, for a walk, and I have some important errands to run before this mama is going to the hairdresser! I can't wait! I would probably cry if the appointment got cancelled or something, because I need to both fix my roots and to relax by myself, so badly.
I wanted to share this post with you because I just remembered that I've completely forgotten to mention one of my good old favorites when it comes to makeup (and I know you're all crazy about makeup!). I have used mac's strobe cream on and off for ages, and it's a really fun and flirty product. It's basically a day cream with light reflecting glow, and it's perfect to wear under or mixed with your foundation or just by itself. It's absolutely perfect for my tired old face ;)!
Now it's time to get this week started, and one thing is for sure, it's gonna be a good one!

In someone else's shoes
Good morning! This is what I wore yesterday. I feel a bit funny looking at these pictures, because I'm wearing my hair almost straight, which is quite rare for me. I am clearly going through some kind of phase at the moment. A phase of pushing myself outside my comfort zone and thinking outside the box. I decide something, and then I just do it, just because I can and because it's good for me to push myself a little bit. Wearing my hair straight might be a teeny tiny thing, but it's something new and that's what it's all about ;D. Taking more risks and jumping into new things is my "new years" resolution, and as I've mentioned earlier, my new year starts in the fall (or any day of the year really) not on new years eve. I'm gonna say yes a lot more and see where that takes me:).
Is there anything you could do to push yourself a little bit outside your comfort zone? I highly recommend everyone to try, even if it's just the most simple thing, because let me tell you, it feels GOOD ;P!

Changes ahead
Hi, I'm so excited! I am usually not the kind of person who likes to take risks, but now there are some new opportunities, chances and changes ahead that I simply couldn't resist. I know it's super annoying (!) to read about things that will "eventually" happen, without being able to know what exactly, but I promise that it will all make sense very soon :). On the first of October my blog will move to a new address www.sofiaruutu.com. Some of you already asked me if the blog will change, and yes it will but only to the better, I promise :). I am so happy I have the best readers in the entire world, and I really hope you continue to follow this blog in the future too. Sometimes change is good, and when it comes to this blog I want to make the best of it, improve, learn and together with you create a place full of inspiration and positivity. I want this blog to be a meeting place for us women to exchange thoughts, tips, ideas, feelings and support. We create this together. <3

Today I'm at home with Greta who caught the flu :(, before I'm off for some meetings. Have a great day and I hope you get the chance to enjoy some sunlight.

Health secrets
When it comes to health I believe in individuality. We are all different both inside and on the outside, which is why health means different things for each and one of us. When I practice health coaching, I always get to know my clients before I give them advice and help in areas they feel they need help in. Health to me means finding balance, which is of course easier said than done, but something to strive for. We can't constantly do well in every area of our lives, so focusing on strengthening weaker areas to find balance is a good way to get started. There are some basic things we all could do to improve our health, so I thought I'd share my 10 most important health boosting advice:
1. Sleep at least 8 hours every night. Force yourself to go to bed on time and you´ll get used to it. Rest is extremely important for the body and brain, and it is while resting we develop, process, grow and renew things within our bodies.
2. Hydrate! The body needs water for every single function that happens in our bodies to function properly.
3. Try to organize your day and find balance between work, play and rest.
4. Get active! Being physically active is important for both body and mind. Moving your body is like putting money in the bank, an investment in your health for the long run. It is better to try to be on the go all through the day, than to sit all day long and sweat like crazy in the gym for 1 hour per day .
5. De- stress. Knowing how to calm down and re-charge batteries is extremely important. When we get stressed, our bodies starts to shut down in one way or another. Trying not to stress when you are stressed is almost impossible and adds even more stress, which leads to a bad circle that's hard to break.
6. Eat nutritious food. Eat foods that feed your body and makes you feel good inside. Choose clean, fresh and alive foods, filled with the nutrition your body needs and craves. ( A good rule is to buy most of your foods in the vegetable and fruit section of the grocery store).
7. Enjoy some soul food every now and then ;). Enjoy some cake at a party, a piece of chocolate with your coffee, a glass of sparkling to celebrate. But remember to genuinely feel good about it or it's not worth it!
8. Make love! ( Yes, it counts as physical activity ;)! )
9. Strive to be healthy and happy, not skinny.
10. Be honest to yourself. You know what changes you need to make for a healthier life! Just do it!
